Bloomfield Garage Inc, was established in Hartford, CT by the late Charles Benjamin Politis in 1924. He moved the garage to Bloomfield in 1930 on the corner of Prospect Street and Park Ave. Charles B Politis, who lived in a large house on Tunxis Avenue in North Bloomfield in the 1920s, began this family business. He operated a Pierce Arrow auto dealership in Hartford and operated a parking garage on Hartford’s Congress Street and then on Lindon Street. In 1930, he opened a one-bay service facility on Tunxis Avenue opposite of the Wintonbury Cemetery. Three years later he added a Ford automotive dealership to the business.
The expanded company moved in 1937 to the intersection of Prospect Avenue and Park Avenue, where the Politis family continues to operate it to this day by Charles F Politis (Fran), John Politis and Gary Hacia.
